Papua New Guinea — Relief Effort
Following the devastating landslide in the Mulitaka region of Enga Province, Papua New Guinea, on May 24th, 2024, EHC Australia, led by CEO Gregory Bondar, quickly mobilised resources to assist affected communities. The disaster displaced families and caused severe damage to infrastructure.
EHC Australia provided K12,030 in aid, delivering food supplies and clothing to those in need. EHC PNG Director, Rev. Aaron Nikkie, representing Bondar, led a team on a five-hour journey to reach the site. They distributed relief goods, gospel tracts, and shared a message of hope from John 3:16, offering spiritual support alongside physical aid.
The swift response provided crucial relief to hundreds of families and brought a renewed sense of resilience to the community. Rebuilding efforts under the Mulitaka Disaster Recovery Plan, launched in November 2024, are ongoing but slow due to resource and logistical issues.
EHC Australia continues to support the region, working with local partners to aid recovery and provide spiritual encouragement.
